Here we are exploring Columbus, Ohio, and your intrepid tour guide needs an introduction!
Hi, My name is Charlene Grant. I live with my family in Clintonville and I sing and teach (see my teaching resume below a recent headshot) for a living as well as administrate a local massage center (go to Pranamyra dot com where I also teach). I live with two teenagers two cats and two birds. My home was built in the 1940's, so there are always a lot of potential projects there. And don't even talk to me about gardening! I love finding plants that are allowed to flourish when the local deer population come for a late night snack haha!
I look forward to many wonderful Journeys as the city of Columbus becomes more vivid, day by day. Drop me a line at grantcharlene201@gmail.com. Photo credit from Jamie

Teaching Experience
In teaching students I used my background, education, performance experience and values to: create a friendly and focused environment; assess background, skill level and learning styles; establish/refine diaphragm breathing and physical alignment (using Alexander principles); introduce and model appropriate vocalises; prepare on a variety of levels (mentally, physically, dramatically etc.) for the vocal line; explore and refine resonance; enhance and adjust articulation; prepare for regular auditions, recitals and performances in opera, musical theatre and song repertoire; support innovation and artistic insight.
· Private voice studio, 2000-2005 (Cincinnati) and November 2004-current (Columbus)
Two of my students recently won roles in their high school musical and with an advanced group in the Columbus Children’s Choir.
· Musical Enrichment, 2000 - current
I have worked with a 90 year old musician who was stroke victim on enjoying music again, “tone-deaf” adults and children at overcoming their inhibition and fears around ear training and pitch-matching skills, and helping timid children, teens and adults at opening up their throat and letting their natural resonance flow..
